Birth Registration Terms and Conditions

Under normal circumstances, the birth of your baby must be registered within 42 days (6 weeks). 

NOTE
Please be aware that hospitals in the city of Stoke-on-Trent (including the ROYAL STOKE UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL) and in Sutton Coldfield (including Good Hope Hospital) do not sit within the Registration District of Staffordshire.
If the birth took place at New Cross Hospital you can complete a full registration at any office, except Newcastle. Please select that the birth took place inside Staffordshire below. 

Births must be registered in the district that they occur, please use the postcode checker to check.

Once your appointment has been made you will be given a reference number; please keep this safe as it will be required if you wish to amend or cancel your appointment.
